RobotNexus2

A Journey into the Future of Robotics and Algorithm

The Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) proudly hosted its highly anticipated workshop series, RobotNexus 2, a hands-on event that brought together robotics enthusiasts, aspiring engineers, and tech aficionados eager to dive into the world of robotics and Internet of Things (IoT). This series provided a unique opportunity for participants to explore the fascinating realm of robotics, from designing and building functional robots to mastering cutting-edge programming techniques.

The workshop series kicked off with an eye-opening awareness session on January 30th, 2025, where attendees were introduced to the future of technology, robotics, and its real-world applications. Held via Zoom, the session sparked curiosity and set the stage for the series of interactive workshops that followed. With expert facilitators and a mix of theoretical and practical learning, participants were in for an engaging experience that catered to all skill levels.

Workshop Day 1: Introduction to Robotics and IoT

The first in-person session, held on February 15th, 2025, welcomed participants into the world of robotics and IoT. The introductory session familiarized attendees with the fundamentals of robotics, giving them the essential knowledge required to navigate the rest of the workshop series. Whether new to the field or already experienced, participants were excited to dive deeper into the intricacies of robotics technology.

Workshop Day 2: Arduino Programming and Micromouse Development

On February 23rd, 2025, the focus shifted to the hands-on aspect of the workshop, where participants learned the basics of Arduino programming and circuit building. This session was dedicated to building the micromouse robot, with participants integrating both hardware and software to bring their robotic creations to life. With expert guidance, attendees gained practical knowledge on circuit design, micromouse development, and the essential role of microcontrollers in robotics.

Workshop Day 3: Programming and Algorithm Design

The third session, held online on February 25th, 2025, focused on the more advanced aspects of robotics—programming and algorithm design. Participants explored wall-following techniques and proportional control algorithms, learning how to program their micromouse robots to navigate efficiently through mazes. This session provided valuable insights into the importance of algorithms in the performance and functionality of robotic systems.

Workshop Day 4: Assembling, Debugging, and Testing the Micromouse Robot

On March 1st, 2025, the final in-person session of RobotNexus 2 brought participants together to assemble, debug, and test their micromouse robots. The workshop featured a specially designed maze where participants had the opportunity to refine their robots' functionality and optimize performance. With the guidance of expert mentors, attendees overcame challenges, fine-tuned their creations, and celebrated their success in completing their micromouse robots.

A Journey of Learning and Innovation

The RobotNexus 2 workshop series concluded on March 1st, 2025, leaving participants with not only a fully functional micromouse robot but also invaluable knowledge in robotics, IoT, and system integration. The hands-on nature of the workshops, combined with expert insights and a collaborative environment, provided an enriching experience for all involved.

This workshop series exemplified the mission of RAS: to foster innovation, spark curiosity, and equip participants with the skills they need to succeed in the rapidly evolving world of robotics and automation. RobotNexus 2 has set a new benchmark for hands-on learning, providing participants with the tools to explore the world of technology and robotics in a way that’s both practical and inspiring.

We look forward to seeing how these bright minds apply their new skills in future projects, contributing to the ever-growing field of robotics and automation. Stay tuned for more exciting events and workshops from RAS!
