TechTrek’s Seventh Workshop: Exploring Enterprise Solutions at Infor

As part of the TechTrek series, the Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) hosted a workshop on modern enterprise solutions, featuring speakers from Infor, a global leader in software innovation. The session provided attendees with an in-depth understanding of cloud computing, software delivery models, and enterprise-level integration.

The workshop began with a detailed discussion on types of cloud computing—public, private, and hybrid—and their respective advantages. The speakers highlighted how cloud computing drives flexibility, scalability, and efficiency in enterprise operations, enabling companies to optimize costs while staying technologically competitive.

Infor’s representatives shared insights into how their software products are delivered to customers via a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) model. This approach ensures seamless software access, automated updates, and reduced maintenance, making it easier for businesses to focus on growth.

Attendees were also introduced to how large-scale software companies operate, including their reliance on modular, scalable systems and data-driven decision-making. Infor’s case studies demonstrated how global collaboration and robust infrastructure help large enterprises thrive in competitive markets.

A significant part of the session was dedicated to the practical application of CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) and containerized software tools with clustering technologies. These tools streamline development, improve deployment efficiency, and enhance scalability—key components in modern software engineering. Infor’s use of clustering solutions, like Kubernetes, was a particularly eye-opening example of how businesses ensure resilience and performance.

The session also emphasized system-to-system integration, showcasing how Infor bridges diverse platforms to enable seamless communication and data flow across enterprise tools. This integration improves workflow efficiency and ensures compatibility in complex business environments.

This workshop enriched our understanding of enterprise-level software development and delivery, equipping us with knowledge that can be applied in our future projects.
